life story of oprah winfrey

Why do you want to know the life story of oprah winfrey?  She represents the possibilities that can come true in a great democracy like the United States.  Her story has been written about many times; for instance, in novels where a person’s humble beginnings doesn’t have to remain that way because of the opportunities that the United States has to offer.

Secondly, freedom of speech is a sacred belief that many citizens hold dear.  Oprah is one example of the many media outlets, from variety talk shows to comedy shows, from drama to sitcoms, from interviews to opinions about the news, that exercise freedom of speech.

The danger is when only a few owners have control of what news will be given to the public.  This would be like force-feeding millions of people to worship God only through one denomination.

In a country that exercises freedom of religion as well as freedom of speech, public figures like Oprah, with dedication, work, stamina, energy, a supporting staff, to name only a few, can have the life story she has because of the possibilities in great countries like the United States.

"Oprah Gail Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to Vernita and Vernon Winfrey. When she entered the world, Oprah already faced overwhelming obstacles. She was born out of wedlock, black and poor. Vernita was 20 years old and worked as a maid. Vernon was enlisted in the armed forces."

"The first six years of Oprah's life was spent on a farm in Kosciusko, where she lived with her grandmother. Oprah says that her grandmother probably saved her life. By age three, she was reading aloud and performing recitations. Her grandmother taught her a love of reading and books, which she retains to this day." .......
