winfrey childhood can be separated into three states, starting with her
early years in Mississippi with her grandmother, and then her elementary
years in Wisconsin with her mother, and then her teenage years in
Tennessee with her father. While these three states and three adults
in her life may overlap, her youth can be divided into these three places
and three family members.
While it may be easy to
categorize anyone's childhood in this way, it is important to recognize
that other people and places in addition to the major people in her life
have also contributed to Oprah, i.e., if you believe that one's childhood
impacts many parts of your adult way of life.
