Find New Orleans tourist information for tours, river cruises, sightseeing, hotels and maps here. Information on the French Quarter.
Bourbon Street at night is closed off to allow tourists to walk, shop, eat without having to worry about traffic. Be prepared for the red light district parts of Bourbon Street. It seems, from listening about the history of New Orleans from two jazz musicians at the National Park, that today’s Bourbon Street is quite mild compared to the days of old when New Orleans was mainly a “port town,” and how some of the jazz were written because of it.
In addition, there is the Riverfront Walk, Riverwalk Shops/Spanish Plaza, French Market, and the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park in the French Market. If, by chance, you hear others in your plane flight rave about the food in New Orleans, go find out for yourself!
